Cole Spivak may still be relatively new to football, but it hasn’t stopped the soon to be Greensburg Central Catholic alum from taking his talents to the next level as an incoming football player for the Carleton College Knights.

Located in Northfield, Minnesota Carleton is a top notch liberal arts education that will allow Spivak to study to one day become an anesthesiologist, while also growing stronger in his faith with a minor in theology.

“I chose Carleton because I found it to be the perfect union of intense football in a high academic setting. In the recruiting process, I often felt like I had to sacrifice either the football or the academic intensity at many schools. I sent Carleton my film after seeing how much of a highly ranked liberal arts school they were and what a great conference the MIAC was.”

Needless to say, things have worked out as in a few short months, he’s Midwest bound. In his varsity career, Spivak has become an All-Conference offensive-tackle for three years, while also becoming the record holder at Greensburg Central Catholic in the discus throw. Looking back on his favorite memories from high school sports, he lists his first varsity start against Monessen as a big turning point in his career.

As a freshman, he was more concerned with learning the game of football and his position than he was getting on the field. His sophomore year was a milestone in that he proved he belonged and had a figure if he put the work into improving his skills and knowledge in football.

In his free time, Spivak enjoys fishing and is a member of MENSA, a high IQ society open to individuals who score in the 98th percentile in intelligence quotient.

A bright future is in store as Cole Spivak’s smarts will continue to take him places both on the gridiron, and eventually to the operating room. Best of luck in this upcoming chapter of your life, Cole! Thank you for the opportunity to share your success in and out of football 🏈 👨🏻‍⚕️
