Coaching Updates Part II (Update)

We have an announcement for the Linfield position as Jenna Street has been named the next head coach there. Jenna takes over for Lacey Bell who was named the interim coach just days before the 2024 season started and did well but was not retained.

Jenna has coached previously in the area at both Warner Pacific University and at Multnomah University. She played and graduated from Cal Lutheran. Best of luck to her and the Wildcats moving forward.

That leaves Dallas and UC Santa Cruz as the only open positions in Region X. I did hear that UCSC had completed their interviews and will make a decisions very soon so expect that to be the next update.

In other news that maybe only I care about, Hannah Long has decided to step down from your head coaching position at DI Queens University at Charlotte. No reason was given in the press release. Queens was a DII institution before transitioning to DI back in 2022. Hannah was the coach at Southwestern when my daughter played her first three years. Don Flora took over for her my daughter’s senior year and remains the coach to this day. It will be interesting to see where she lands or whether she is going to pursue other interests.

Update – I’m hearing that UC Santa Cruz has made their selection. Staying within the region for their choice but I’ll wait for their announcement.
