Recently, she committed to Harvard University as a part of the Crimson’s recruiting class for 2023. She said this about becoming an Ivy League student-athlete someday soon.

“It definitely means a great deal to me that I will be part of the Ivy League in the future. It feels as if all my hard work has paid off. I am very grateful for all of my coaches, teammates, and parents who have gotten me to this point; I couldn’t have done it without them.”

As for going to Harvard in particular, her official visit is what sold her on heading to Cambridge, Massachusetts.

“Harvard has always been a dream school of mine. However, when I met the team on my recruiting trip, I really felt like it was the right fit for me. Everyone is so close with each other, the team chemistry and environment is amazing, and they just have a lot of fun.”

So far in her standout diving career, she’s become a three-time WPIAL champion, a two-time PIAA state champion, a three-time USA Diving Junior National Championship finalist, and a six-time USA Diving Junior National Championship qualifier.

On the club circuit, she’s competed for Pittsburgh Diving club and also as an independent, unattached competitor at meets at Westminster College and Clarion University.

To date, her favorite memories from diving have come from being able to travel the country to compete and getting to know some of the best divers from all over the nation.

With her starting to dive at a young age, it is not surprise that her younger sister, who is just nine, has followed her into the sport of diving.

“She’s better than I think I was at that age,” said Shi about her younger sister’s possible future in the sport.

As far as her studies, she intends to major in a science related field and thinks biology or environmental science could be her pick down the road.

Best of luck as you continue your time at North Allegheny and as a high school diver, Christina! Thank you for the chance to highlight your commitment and accolades to date
