Casting

In terms of casting, I only require one model to portray the ‘teenage girl’ character seen within my video. As the video is solely focused around this character, I wanted to ensure I selected someone who would provide an emotional and realistic performance. For this reason, I considered my friend, a drama student at my school, named Jessica Morris who had previously modelled for me for my AS magazine.

In order to ensure she would be appropriate for the role, I created a casting sheet for Jess, considering her relevance, suitability, availability and impact:

Overall, Jess seems more than suitable. She will be highly appropriate for my target audience as she will be able to portray the relatable narrative of insecurity as a young person herself. Equally, my target audience will be predominately female, and so using a female model will be more relatable to them.
