“Tufts provided the ability to be in a campus setting while also being close to a major city. People not from New England may not know this but Tufts is only about a 10 minute drive from being in the heart of Boston. Secondly, Tufts allowed me to receive a top notch education while continuing to play basketball in arguably the most competitive Division III league (NESCAC). I can’t stress how happy I am to this day with the decision I made.”
So far in his college career, he’s played in 73 career games and has made 43 starts. He was able to help Tufts qualify for the NCAA Tournament during the 2019-20 campaign, with the Jumbos also winning their first round game over Western Connecticut State after he sunk a pair of free throws with two seconds left to seal the win.

Cohen came to the Greater Boston Area for his college days after a high school career that included two-years as a varsity captain and four years on the Fox Chapel varsity basketball team. Cohen became a two-time All-League selection, a four-year Scholar Athlete, an inductee into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, and an inductee into the National Honors Society during his high school days as well. Cohen also showcased his versatility as a two-year varsity starter in soccer.
Leaving Pittsburgh for Boston has allowed him to grow in numerous ways as a student-athlete as Tufts is one of the finest intellectual institutions in the entire country. Cohen had this to say about his college days to this point. “I will say that the education I am receiving from Tufts has overwhelmingly helped me grow as a student. As an underclassmen at a school like Tufts, balancing the school and work load can be difficult at times. Tufts expects its student-athletes to be able to handle their classes and workload and fortunately, I never have had too much problem balancing work and sports even dating back to high school. As an upperclassman I have definitely found a strong routine in my schedule.”

Cohen is studying economics with a minor in entrepreneurship. Through his studies, his interests have also grown to feature finance, with Cohen having internships to date with Invictus Capital, Stone Pier Capital Advisors, and Cypress Associates LLC to explore various paths through business. This summer, he will begin an internship in New York City with Equiteq as an Investment Banking Analyst. Some interesting facts about Cohen include his favorite professional athlete is Chris Paul, his dream job is to become an NBA General Manager, and he is the second student-athlete in his family as his sister is a former All-American soccer player at Washington University in St. Louis. Best of luck to you as you continue your basketball career and working towards your goals in the business world, Carson! Thank you for the opportunity to share your success to date 🏀👨🏻💼
