Keeping the Candle Lit
There’s a small candle I keep on my desk. Some nights it burns steady and generous, spilling warm light across half-finished poems, old books, and a cooling cup of tea. Other nights it trembles, a shy, wavering flame that seems close to folding in on itself. But it has never gone out.
This blog, Byron’s Muse, has been my candle for many years; a place where I’ve laid down my love for poetry, painting, cinema, and the quiet, stubborn things that refuse to be hurried. It has carried me through winters of silence and summers of fire, through my boredom, my melancholies and excitement, through voyages across cities as well as the inward voyages.
Lately I’ve felt the wish to feed that flame, to keep burning on nights when the world feels too loud or too small. So, for the first time, I’m opening a way for readers who love these words to help keep the light.
I’ve created a small Patreon; a private corner where I will share early access to essays, private reflections, art-inspired moodboards, poetry drafts, and occasional audio readings. Think of it as stepping into my writing room before the curtains are opened to the street. I will see yet what and when I will publish, it will depend on your responses and enthusiasm.
So far, there is only one tier, the “Muse” tier; for those who wish to tip the lamp with a small monthly flame.
Your support, in any form, be it a comment, a share, a patronage, or just the act of reading, means more than I can say. It tells me that the lamp is worth keeping lit. That somewhere, someone is sitting in its glow.
You can join me HERE.
Thank you for walking with me through the shadows and the light,
Asya
