“I felt that W&J was the right fit for me because it’s very close to home and they win a lot of baseball games. Coach Mountain also reminded me of previous coaches and he fit the exact coach I was looking for.”

Vogel was a part of a WPIAL title his freshman year and was named All-Section in 2021. On the travel baseball circuit, he has played for Beaver Valley Red since the age of 12.

Looking back on his days in baseball so far, his favorite moment as a high school athlete so far is as a freshman hitting a double in the WPIAL championship game.

“The energy our fans had when I looked up into the crowd is something I’ll never forget.” said Vogel about that moment.

A memory he holds close to him is during the WPIAL playoff run in 2021, hearing the crowd’s reaction to the late Coach Chuck Rutter when his name was announced at the WPIAL championship game.

While he did play travel baseball, his lifelong coach has always been his dad. The duo can feel good about all the time they spent together to help Vogel reach the college level for a program that is one of the best in all of Division III baseball.

In college, he intends to major in finance with a minor in communications. His ultimate dream is to open a baseball facility business and to become an advocate for student-athletes.

Best of luck in this final season of high school ball, Brian! Thank you for the chance to highlight your journey so far and your dream of working in baseball one day ⚾️👨🏻‍💼
