Borscht Belt Fest Is This Weekend

Shame on me for not letting you know about this sooner (I don’t know what I was thinking) but technically there’s still some time for New Yorkers to get their butts up to the mountains to the Borscht Belt Fest up in Ellenville! Tonight’s mostly the meet and greet, but the weekend is CHOCK FULL of incredible looking programs, comedy shows, talks, film screenings, etc. The full line-up knocks my socks off! A couple of folks I know are presenting, like funnyman Bob Greenberg and the show biz loving illustrator Drew Friedman. But I want to see everything else too! Ironically I can’t go, as I need to finish my new book about TV variety shows, which happens to be crammed with Catskills veterans, of course, from Milton Berle to Red Buttons (Apparently I only do comedians that start with “B”). So I hope they present it again next year. Meantime, I’m really hoping to visit the Borscht Belt Museum in Ellenville this year in any case. Break a leg, everybody.
