Through WAF, municipal governments in developing cities will partner with developed cities in Europe and the US. Reflecting the essence of the Glocal Forum’s city-to-city approach to development and peacebuilding, these partnerships will serve to create demand-driven supply networks for resources from governments, private companies and individuals in the developed world to children across the developing world. In this way, WAF will link international and local actors and, in the process, rebuild hope in our collective future. Six pilot WAF Centers are being established in Africa and the Middle East in the cities of Kigali, Rwanda; Kabul, Afghanistan; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Nablus, Palestine; Asmara, Eritrea; and Freetown, Sierra Leone. WAF’s strategy is to build a sound model in these six locations and then replicate it in emerging cities worldwide.
