Birthday (Sept 10) Match Day!

Updates: Workouts are done. Rangers win and sweep the Brewers. I have about 5 minutes before I have to get ready for PB.

Some matches have ended and a number have started. Tufts is up 1-0 on WPI. Looks like the scoreboard had the wrong time for IWU/DePauw. It’s starting at 6 central. That’s probably another match worth watching.

Big win for Dub. I really like UWP but a couple of these sets weren’t that close. Great win for the D.

Nice win for Huntingdon. Pretty easy sweep here. Ella Hughes hit 0.500 for Oglethorpe and had 8 kills.

Centre gets the 4-set win over Transy. Syd Bietz with 17 kills and 10 digs for Centre. Good win in front of 300.

IWU got a sweep over DePauw. W&L wasn’t challenged tonight against Roanoke. They stay undefeated. F&M stay undefeated with a sweep over DeSales. Rose-Hulman stays undefeated with a sweep of their own. Heidelberg is 8-2 after a win over Ohio Wesleyan. A team to watch. Coe moves to 6-1 after a 5-set win over Cornell College.

All matches are over. Time to work on tomorrow’s Match Day.

Random Thoughts:

It’s my birthday so busy non-volleyball day going on. We’ve got a lunch at Babe’s (IYKYK), Rangers/Brewers baseball game and then pickleball. So, very little interaction from me tonight although I’d love to see that UWP/Dubuque match.

In the “West”, the best match will be that Transy/Centre game for bragging rights in Kentucky. Of course, Spalding, Berea and Asbury might disagree. The Oglethorpe/Huntingdon match should also be pretty good. Westcliff is a non-DIII school while Regent is in the C2C but is not a counting member in our division, just yet.
