A washed-up actor, who once played an iconic superhero, attempts to revive his career by writing and starring in his very own Broadway play.
Well, this was different. Wow, this film has a lot of dialogue. I mean A LOT!! The drumming music was insanely annoying. Critics loved the film so much it won an Oscar for Best Picture. I didn’t like it. Once again I disagree with critics. This is just much too much of a talkie. As I said before: I’m not into talkies. One of the lines in the film is “People want action, not talkies”. I found it so ironical coming from a talkie film!! This was so boring. Why should I care about a has-been actor wanting to re-invent himself through a stage play? And what’s with the levitation and his ‘abilities’? They never even bother to explain that. What did I actually enjoy about this film? Uhm, the acting was very good…and Edward Norton’s “massive boner”. Does that count?
Yawn, did I actually sit through this?? You have no idea how many times I wanted to hit the forward button. F*ck, I can’t handle that drumming music!!!
The film won almost 200 awards, including 4 Oscars. Really?? What am I missing here?
