On a lonely road, a prison transport is brutally assaulted. Martin, the policeman who was driving, survives and fortifies his position while the con men search for a way to finish him.

Wow, this was captivating from beginning to end!!

This Spanish thriller really delivered! On his first day, police officer Martin Salas (Javier Gutiérrez) must transport six prisoners at night during freezing temperatures. He is accompanied by fellow policeman Montesinos (Isak Férriz). Most of the film is set inside the transport vehicle. (The transport vehicle is a big truck with a number of prison cells and a toilet facility.)

Their mission is compromised and the truck is stopped by a spiked strip across the road. A mysterious sniper then starts shooting at them. With Martin and the prisoners trapped inside the truck, tensions rise as the mystery of the sniper intensifies, and it becomes clear he is after one of the prisoners, Nano.

As the film develops, we get to know the mystery sniper. What follows, is a nail-biting rollercoaster ride of action and suspense where their every move will determine their fate. The film is unpredictable and had me holding my breath at times – especially during the fantastic final act.

Towards the end, I understood the sniper’s intentions – although it was a bit extreme, and maybe even selfish. Nevertheless, ‘Below Zero’ is an incredible action thriller that is bound to keep you glued to the screen from the opening moment. And what a stunning ending! Wow, this was amazing!

Apparently, this Netflix film was viewed 47 million times in its first month!

In Spanish.

Would I watch it again? Absolutely.
