Bathtub Donkeys Coming to Bighamton

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are the next team to get a new alternate identity for the 2025 season. Enter the Bathtub Donkeys.

The Bathtub Donkeys will take the field for two games in 2025. The new name comes from a law from the 1800’s that stated a donkey may not sleep in a bathtub. It’s kind of funny to think this was a law at one point. It’s also not the first place I would think of to go for inspiration when naming a baseball team.

However, I think it works. It’s fun, light-hearted, and goofy enough to be remembered, but a not so over the top. I feel like if a home run and be a swamp donkey, why can’t you have a team named after a bathtub varient?

The logo is funny. It has a donkey wearing a shower cap with baseballs on it and using a baseball bat with a loofah on it to clean its back. They also have an alternate logo that’s a monogrammed towel which is clever.

I also like the lighter blue, almost teal, gray and white color scheme. I would probably rate this new identity an A. I just really like the logos, color scheme and name. It’s just super fun.
