Barbecue in Charlotte?

A panel has selected 3 “official barbecue sauces” for the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. I’ve never heard of any of the winners. I do admire one of the finalists, Mayor Anthony Fox, because he’s a Davidson grad and, true to their Honor Code, corrected the First Lady’s promise of great barbecue in Charlotte for the convention by forthrightly stating that there is no great barbecue in Charlotte. They should have had the convention in Lexington.
