AVTT/PTTN – Eternal Love (2025)

Mike Patton has teamed up with the Avett Brothers, an American folk-rock band from Concord, North Carolina. Their collaborative project is named AVTT/PTTN. The Avett Brothers were formed around the early 2000s by brothers Scott Avett (banjo, lead vocals) and Seth Avett (guitar, lead vocals). They later brought in Bob Crawford (double bass, violin, trumpet) and Joe Kwon (cello), among other touring musicians over the years. Their music blends folk, bluegrass, country, rock, and pop, often marked by heartfelt lyrics, close vocal harmonies, and an energetic yet intimate performance style. They started out more rooted in traditional folk and bluegrass but gradually incorporated rock and pop elements, especially after signing with producer Rick Rubin in 2007, which helped bring them to a much wider audience.

Every day as in every dark night Its so hard to speak without lying Even birth is the ending Every life is dying Here in the spaces Here in the shadows Behind the faces Beneath the soul Everyone has it The dread of eternal love

I take my pills I drink my drinks I Never stopped wondering what people think Hiding humility by never arriving I wax the mercedes I dream about driving Here in the country Up in the air Out on the streets Everywhere Everyone has it Everyone knows The dread of eternal love The dread of eternal love

The paint gets pulled off The paint gets put on We take off the best suit We have donned We walk to the ocean Full of ourselves And she takes out soul From it’s shell

And she takes us… She takes us… Oh she takes us…

Here in the spaces Here in the shadows Behind the faces Beneath the souls I take my pills I drink my drinks Forever concerned with what you think Down in the valley Up in the air In San Francisco Everywhere Everyone has it Everyone Knows The dread of eternal love The dread of eternal love The dread of eternal love
