AVCA voters nearly nailed it in preseason

I doubt the AVCA will put it out there, so I’ll mention it on the coaches’ behalf. These were the top four teams in AVCA 2014 D III preseason poll: 1. Calvin 2. Emory 3. Wisconsin-Stevens Point 4. Hope

I and others had complaints about the voting toward the end of the season, but you can’t do much better than that. When you’re right, you’re right. The voters basically nailed it in the preseason.

My preseason list had Emory first, Hope third, Wisconsin-Stevens Point eighth and Calvin ninth. The AVCA preseason poll, which was not exactly out on a limb in a sport without much year-to-year parity, is one example why others get paid to run volleyball programs while this blog remains free. Credit where it’s due, pollsters.
