AVCA Top 25 (11/2/21)

The AVCA has released their Week 9 Top 25 Poll and I really have better things to do like counting the second for the regional rankings to come out tomorrow. Oh well, I’ll plus along.

We have the same 10 teams to start off the rankings with the only changes being in the middle. Wartburg moves up to 4th and Hope moves up to 5th. Calvin drops two spots to 6th. Johns Hopkins is still the number one team with 89 of 90 first place votes and it’s good to see that lone holdout voter still has Northwestern above JHU. Wartburg has the other 1st place vote. Trinity is still second followed by CMS (who beat Trinity earlier in the year).

Emory fell three spots down to 14th after their loss to Berry this past week. Berry moved up two spots to 12th. MIT dropped 3 spots due to their loss and, for the most part, that’s it.

From Region X, we have Trinity (2), CMS (3), Colorado College (7), Mary Hardin-Baylor (13) and Southwestern (16). UC Santa Cruz is still18th. Whitworth is the only Region X team receiving votes and is the next team up if anyone ever drops out. (BTW, no one has been dropping out and that includes this week, too.)

The AVCA and my rankings are off by only one team. I have Denison ranked while the AVCA has Chicago ranked.

The real rankings come out tomorrow!
