AVCA Top 25 (10/25/22)

The AVCA has released their Week 9 Top 25 Poll. Just like my rankings didn’t change much, neither did this one. The top 11 spots remained unchanged with CMS taking the top spot with all 90 first-place votes. They were followed by Juniata, Calvin, Trinity and Northwestern. I have the same five but in a slightly different order. UW-Eau Claire was moved out of the 12th spot down to 14th to add a little movement in the rankings.

Babson, after losing 3-straight matches, was dropped from the rankings and replaced by Transylvania. It’s good to see Transy finally back in the poll. UC Santa Cruz was the big riser, if you can call it that, going from 24th to 21st. The big faller was Augsburg who went from 20 to 25. I dropped them in my rankings this week.

Region X teams in the rankings are CMS, Trinity and UC Santa Cruz. Colorado College is still receiving votes but that’s about it for our region.

As of today, my rankings and the AVCA’s rankings differ by only one team. They still have Augsburg and I have Case Western Reserve.

As a reminder, I published the Region X Rankings this morning, but the real ones come out tomorrow and for the first time they will be ordered. The only team not regionally ranked last week that is still in the rankings is Albion.
