August Update
It is good to see by telephone, email and snail mail contact that you have found us and following the slow developments of this season!
It is difficult to believe how few fruits we have (unless, like us you are among the empty trees).
Here and there a tree or a branch – and in a few instances a row – usually by a hedge – carries some fruit. Frost cracking and russet has been seen on plums and also apples. Nationwide there is a shortage of all tree fruits – better described as an absence. Quality of what there is will not have been helped by the early, cold wet start and no more by the return to cold damp weather.
As and when any small supplies are ready then they will be available at the farm in the usual way.We may send out the odd pack by special arrangement but quality, timing and predictability are all involved!
We do not supply farmshops.
Our Tomatoes have begun but the broadbeans did not appreciate the hot sun last week.
Discovery apples will probably be around towards the end of August.
