August 2020
These monthly updates are kinda easier when it’s like, I took my camera out for one measly thing because we didn’t leave the house otherwise…
HEY GUESS WHAT FOR AUGUST THAT IS THE ANNUAL DANCE RECITAL.
Usually this is in June, not August. And usually it’s held at the swanky Overture Center or at the super hip Sylvee. This year, obviously, COVID threw a wrench in that, just like it has everything else in all our lives.
This year the recital was optional, in case kiddos were too overwhelmed and anxious with COVID stuff to participate (that was our Moose, so he sat out this year). It was also held on studio grounds, outside. First with a 15-minute run through in the lower portion of the lot, then move up to the official “stage”.
Pete, after months of Zoom dance classes, was SUPER jazzed to finally see his friends in person again (even though it meant masks and routines re-configured so everyone stayed at least six-feet apart).
This was how they marked the COVID safe, parent designated spots on the asphalt. By the way.
Dance time snack time.
A sneak peek into the life of a dedicated dance instructor, guys.
And before we knew it their dance was over and it was time for trophies.
One last shot with his favorite, oldest, dearest dance buddy of all time, Miss Mariana. Man, but are we thankful for this dance studio and all the people in it.
Aaaand – that’s all she wrote. Summer blogged, woohoo! On to the fall, folks. Thanks for sticking around in all this mess…
