Apple Dapple Cake

This is not my recipe. It’s the well-known Apple Dapple Cake. My neighbor makes this cake and I’ve had it more than once. It’s moist, full of Apples and Pecans. I finally made it, and we were not disappointed. I added Cinnamon, just cause, and next time I’ll add chopped Dates because I love them with Apples. One caution, if you don’t have a heavy-duty mixer, you may want to mix this by hand.
Ingredients
3 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup pecans chopped
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cup sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups raw apples peeled and chopped fine
I added 1 tsp cinnamon
Next time I’m adding some chopped dates
Sauce
1 cup packed brown sugar for sauce
1/4 cup milk for sauce
3/4 cup butter 1 -1/2 sticks (for sauce)
Instructions
Beat eggs and mix with sugar, oil and vanilla.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda, and cinnamon. Add to egg mixture.
Fold in apples and pecans. Pour into greased and floured bundt or tube cake pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
For Frosting: Bring brown sugar, butter and milk to a boil. Boil only 2 1/2 minutes. Cool for 10-15 minutes and spread on cake.
