Anniversary Time

Another year and another anniversary for this website (3rd, if you’re counting at home). This marriage does seem to have hit a rocky portion, but I did promise “through sickness and health” so I’ll be sticking with it.

In all seriousness, thank you to all of my readers. It always trips me out when I step back and look at the yearly statistics, as I do with this post. I think the most amazing thing I did this past year was to actually cheer for Trinity at the East/West Challenge. I do have to say that the Trinity parents have always been really cool, even back in my daughter’s playing days. It’s a shame I hate their volleyball playing children so much. Remember, no anniversary gift is required; I just ask that you tell your team’s parents, coaches and players about the site. This entire effort is really for them.

Alright, some self love (editor’s note: think of rewording that last part) right now as I look at the site’s statistics:

• There were 266 posts for the year (doesn’t include this one). That’s the most I’ve done in a year and 31 more than last year.

• I’ve added more than 214,000 words in the past year. The total since the site’s inception is 526,458 words.

• The most popular post over the last year was “Selection Eve“.

• The most popular page (left side menu item) over the last year was “2020 Recruits“.

• Most page views for a month occurred during November 2019. This month holds my record for most views in a month. Second place was also set this year (September 2019).

• Overall, there have been over 89,000 views on the website this past year.

• Most views for a day this past year was on November 11, 2019 but the current record is still November 4, 2018 with 2,831 views. (This was selection eve so always the busiest time of the year.)

• Outside of the USA, the site is most popular in Hong Kong, Canada and Hungary. Hungary has been making a big push this year. Shout out to my one view from Montenegro! I can just imagine the disappointment they had when their search turned up my site.

• The site now has 76 followers, which is more than double what I had last year. Remember that you can follow through email or a WordPress account. All followers get a 75% discount on everything in the site’s store. (Remember to check out the mirror image D3VbWest shirts! Great for selfies! Unfortunately, due to an ordering issue, we only have xtra xtra small right now.)

As always, I had the most fun writing the “Selection Eve” post. Just a brain dump on the last day of matches before selection day. I will say the must displeasing post continues to be “Colleges Canceling Fall Season”.

Normally, at this time, we have about a month to go until the season. Best case, I’ll be breaking all kind of records come spring!
