Anitta releases video for ‘Aceita’ [Accept] with images of Candomblé, an African spiritual tradition that is widespread in Brazil, where it arrived with the slaves brought from Africa by the Europeans colonizers. Evangelical fanatics did not appreciate it at all, and the rising star lost 200 thousand followers after announcing the new single. Now, what’s 200,000 followers for an artist who has over 17 million just on YouTube? Here is what Anitta had to say about the episode:

“Yesterday, when I announced the release of this music video, I lost more than 200,000 followers in less than 2 hours. I’ve talked about my spirituality countless times, but it seems that leaving an artistic work in my catalog forever was too much for those who don’t accept that others think differently”.
