ANGELO BADALAMENTI – Laurens Walking | Straight Story OST | David Lynch

The Straight Story (1999) is one of David Lynch’s most unique and heartwarming films. Unlike his usual surreal and dark storytelling style, this film is a straightforward, poignant drama based on a true story.

David Lynch’s The Straight Story (1999) is based on the remarkable true story of Alvin Straight, a man who undertook a highly unusual journey that captured hearts for its simplicity and determination. Alvin Straight (1920–1996) was a 73-year-old man from Laurens, Iowa. In 1994, after hearing that his estranged brother, Henry, had suffered a stroke and was gravely ill, Alvin decided to visit him to reconcile. Alvin, who had poor eyesight, arthritis, and no driver’s license, chose to make the trip using a riding lawn mower. He traveled approximately 240 miles from Laurens, Iowa, to Blue River, Wisconsin

The journey spans over 240 miles and is filled with challenges, both physical and emotional. Along the way, Alvin meets a variety of people, sharing his wisdom, humor, and reflections on life. The story unfolds as a meditation on family, forgiveness, and the resilience of the human spirit.
