Andrew Petcash Building Sports Empire

The word cash is a part of his last name. Yes, Andrew Petcash has made a solid living so far in his young business and media career. But, I’m not going to focus on that. After all, the Pittsburgh native knows about moolah a little better than me (and when I say a little, it’s actually a huge amount).
The former Pine Richland standout credits his days as a competitive athlete for helping to show him the discipline he would need if he wanted to be successful in something. It started at an early age as he, his father Robert, and younger brothers Dan and Joey all love the game a great deal. From days in the driveway and in the park, it eventually expanded to youth leagues, school teams, and playing for PK Flash on the travel circuit.
Petcash would graduate from Pine Richland as a seven time letter winner as he collected four letters in basketball to go with three in tennis, something that his mother, Kristen, a former collegiate tennis player loved to see from her oldest son. Petcash would graduate as the Pine Richland Rams second all-time leading scorer with 1,643 points, a two-time WPIAL champion, a Pittsburgh Post Gazette Fab Selection, and also helped his team make the state title game in his senior year.
With an output like 19.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game to go with a 61 percent field-goal percentage and 40 percent clip from beyond-the-arc, it is little surprise that Division I schools started contacting him. His first offer came from St. Francis University after a stretch in the 2015-16 season that saw him score 1,000 points and help his team to a WPIAL title and quarterfinal appearance in the state tournament.
Ultimately, the high-level academic regard of the Patriot League was something that intrigued him to go along with a Division I basketball experience. The Boston University Terriers eventually came knocking, the eventual destination for the former all-state guard. There, he played in 100 games and helped the program win a Patriot League title in his junior season. The only problem was the NCAA Tournament was canceled due to COVID-19, perhaps the biggest disappointment in his athletic career.

Still, having a chance to think about life after basketball was what he decided to do during the quarantine spring and summer of 2020. He still had his senior year, but what was next? Professional basketball overseas was not his cup of tea, but he was not ready to say goodbye to the game and sports entirely.
Turning a negative into a positive, Petcash started making content about business, entertainment, and sports. People were eating it up, and for good reason. His delivery is clean, well-planned, and it is engaging enough to get people to act on. These things are what make content creators great, something Andrew Petcash certainly is.
After finishing his degree in real estate and finance in the spring of 2021 from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business, he started diving more deeply into his business called Profluence, Virtually a brand and a name to go along with the content he creates, the business delivers a newsletter, podcast, and articles about entertainment, finance, and sports to an audience of millions. The newsletter is a weekly delivery to his readers, while articles come at a rate of a few times per week.
Aside from his company, Petcash is a regular guest on 93.7 The Fan where he joins talk radio to discuss sports and sports business on Thursday mornings. He also works in freelance roles for Cerebro Sports, Lens of Sport, and The AIR App. Ultimately, it’s Petcash’s discipline and strict schedule that allow him to not just hold down so many positions, but also to leave enough time to train for triathlons, play tennis, and watch his favorite teams play in the evenings.
It’s a self-made story, the tale of a young man who’s already had so many W’s, but there are many opportunities in the works that will help to bring him to an even higher level. See you at the top, Andrew!
