AMERY REY TUESTA – The Dark Side of the Hype (2024)
Amery Rey Tuesta is a Peruvian-born classical guitarist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Gothenburg, Sweden. He has composed over 300 works, ranging from studies to guitar concertos, and performs both his own compositions and pieces by classical masters such as Francisco Tárrega, Mauro Giuliani, Fernando Sor, and Matteo Carcassi.
Renowned for his impressive technique and musicality, Amery has developed unique methods, including the two-finger tremolo and the use of fingernails to produce a warmer sound. His contributions have been instrumental in popularizing the six-string guitar in the Ucayali region of Pucallpa, Peru, where it traditionally competed with the five-string guitar.
In addition to his classical endeavors, Amery is a versatile musician whose work spans various genres, including funk, rock, metal, punk, blues, rap, Latin, soul, psychedelia, and pop. He is also a record producer, sound engineer, mixer, and mastering engineer, integrating a wide variety of styles into his music.
