Altoona Curve 2024 Roster Announced

S. Samek

It’s opening day for the Double-A Eastern League. AS a result of this we have the announcement of the roster of the Altoona Curve, the Double-A team of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from this team in 2024.

The pitching staff includes top prospects Braxton Ashcraft, Bubba Chandler and Anthony Solometo, all rated in the top 10 of Pirates Prospects.

Tsung-Che Cheng leads the position players as the highest rated prospect. Cheng is rated number eight. Jase Bowens rated as the 21st best prospect also joins the Curve.

Though overall the Curve will see 20 players who have suited up for them previously return to the club. This should give a vibe of familiarity in Curve, PA.

They went 34-34 during the first half of last season and 33-34 in the second half for an overall record of 67-68. They finished in third place overall in the Southwest division and missed the playoffs.

Though can they keep that consistency, or even improve on it in 2024? We shall have to wait and see. Opening day starter for the Curve in Akron against the RubberDucks tonight is Chandler and first pitch is at 7:05 PM EST.
