Ainkurunuru

Ainkurunuru  is a classical Tamil poetic work . It consists of five hundred short poems. The poems in this collection were written by five authors namely Orampokiyar, Ammuvanar, Kapilar, Otalanraiyar and Peyanar.  Each of them wrote hundred poems. The period of the prose showed to be 300 BCE to 100 CE, however it is compiled by Kudalur Kizhar during the period of 100 CE to 150CE. Chera King – Yanaikkatcey Mantaran Ceral Irumporai  command his court poet Kudalur Kizhar to publish  “Aingkurunuru” during the period of 140 CE approximately. After a long span of centuries, it was recollected and got published in the paperback version by S. Kalayana Sundara Iyer in 19th century.
