Aidan Belcastro Looks Back on High School and Club Career; Committed to Garden City Men’s Soccer
Aidan Belcastro is a senior at Trinity High School in Washington, Pennsylvania and is heading to Garden City Community College to continue playing college soccer at the junior college level.
Garden City, located in Kansas, may sound familiar to casual sports fans as the school was an opponent to Independence Community College in the Netflix series Last Chance U. Belcastro said this about why he wanted to play for the Garden City Broncbusters.
“Garden City was the right fit for me for a few reasons. The main reason is because of how the head coach (Tre Thomas) treated me during my recruitment process. The connections to Division 1 colleges he has and how he sees me as a player is another reason. They also have implemented a system of soccer I love to play and fit best in. Going far away from home is something I don’t feel comfortable doing, but the coaches have made it feel like home and something worth doing in order to get that bigger four-year offer.”
Playing for the Trinity Hillers, he was named a Finest 15 in 2021 and led his team in goals and assists as a senior. In the club season, he was a part of a West Virginia state finalist team with Wheeling United.
A few of his favorite memories from soccer so far include ending Belle Vernon’s undefeated season, playing for a Pittsburgh All-Star team that got to play against D.C. United Academy, and overcoming a 1-0 halftime deficit in his last home game of high school soccer to win 8-1.
Belcastro is hopeful to reach the Division I or Division II level and to earn a scholarship after a year or two playing at the junior college level. With this as one of his goals, another is to eventually become a Physician Assistant.
Best of luck as you get ready for college soccer and strive towards your next set of goals, Aidan! Thank you for the chance to highlight your commitment and future plans ⚽️👨🏻⚕️
