Aftermath
Check out the caption in this newspaper clipping…

And here’s another photo that I’m re-posting from my photo guru Leo’s RT in his Twitter account of what was allegedly given away during the funeral of President Cory Aquino. Actually it’s just one account of many. I found at least 3 other photos with accompanying stories from my Twitter and Facebook accounts all claiming the same thing, that it was given away during the funeral.

And just one last thing, while watching the funeral on TV, I’d see a barrage of ads featuring politicians who squirmed through the loopholes in our election laws and managed to air election campaigns disguised (not so very well, I must add), as PSA’s or public service announcements. My beef is, I’m sure it’s legal, or else it wouldn’t be on air, so I’m sure they ALL have their statements defending their ads ready for action, but how stupid do they think we are, not to know that they’re trying to jump the gun on the 2010 elections? If these people aren’t even elected yet, and they’re already bypassing the laws they find inconvenient to their ends, can you imagine what they’re capable of doing once they’re given more power? If there’s anything we should take from all this renewed political will, let’s learn to pick the right people. Of course we’ll never really know for sure, right? Some who are great on paper end up as thieves anyway. But at least let’s all think before we vote. Even if our choice eventually proves “wrong”, at the very least we can say that we gave it some serious thought and it seemed like the best decision AT THE TIME. Oy, politics…
