Additional Fall Items at Costco

I have written about some of the fall items at Costco (Fall Items to Buy at Costco) but then I found a few more. Some items are repeats across posts so I won’t comment on them. Given the seasonal pattern of items at Costco (Navigating Seasonal Items at Costco), I figured it would help to post them as soon as possible.

8 Items to Buy at Costco in the Fall

1. Apple Pie

Previously discussed (Summer Bakery Desserts at Costco)

2. Junior’s Apple Crumble Cheesecake

Another dessert suggested for members to buy this fall is this cheesecake by the famous New York Junior’s brand. Apparently, it is New York cheesecake with apple pie filling, baked in a pie dough and then topped with streusel and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

I have previously written about my preference for plain cheesecake over the flavored ones. Therefore, I am not interested in this cake, although it’s a creative idea. I just can’t imagine ruining (and that is how I see it!) a great New York cheesecake (I don’t think I’ve ever had Junior’s but it is supposed to be one of the best). It seems that the apple filling would dominate both the flavor and the texture. In addition, I love traditional cheesecake crust. While I do like pie crust as well, I would not want a cheesecake inside one.

3. Cinnamon Coffee Cake

A new bakery item is this coffee cake. It has a cocoa and cinnamon batter and is topped with a butter cinnamon streusel.

This cake sounds delicious. I love coffee cake, especially with streusel (actually, I would love to just buy streusel…i know, I could just make it my second but I know I am not going to). I don’t have a great idea as to what this cake would taste like because it has cocoa in the batter. I generally associate coffee cake with vanilla. I love chocolate but I actually prefer vanilla cake, unless the chocolate cake is extremely dark and fudgy. I’ve had a marble (chocolate/vanilla swirl) from the Boston Coffee Cake company. However, I don’t know what a batter with cinnamon and chocolate would be like. I have to admit that, mentally, I prefer non-chocolate coffee cake because then it seems more like “breakfast” (even though I used to eat chocolate chip pancakes and still view chocolate chip muffins as a acceptable breakfast food). I would be interested in trying this cake though, especially if it has a lot of the topping!

4. Alden’s Organic Pumpkin Ice Cream Sandwiches

Another fall item at Costco is this limited edition ice cream sandwich. The filling is a swirl of organic pumpkin and cheesecake ice cream.

I have never had either pumpkin or cheesecake ice cream. I likely won’t try them (partially because I don’t like ice cream sandwich) but they do look good. I was not able to find the flavor of the wafers but they look to be either vanilla or maybe graham flavored due to their light coloring. I have never had Alden’s ice cream, but I have read positive reviews.

5. Pumpkin Pie

Already discussed (Fall Items to Buy at Costco).

6. Noosa Fall Yoghurt Variety Pack

The author recommends this yogurt variety pack (vanilla bean, cinnamon, and salted caramel) for the fall season.

Noosa is not kosher and I only like plain Greek yogurt (Product Review: Kirkland Organic Greek Yogurt). When I did like flavored yogurt, I liked the sweet flavors (I remember loving white chocolate raspberry yogurt). I did like vanilla yogurt and I could see cinnamon being ok but caramel yogurt does not sound good to me.

7. Pumpkin Streusel Muffins

Already discussed (Fall Items to Buy at Costco).

8. Kirkland Signature Vintage Ale

The final item on the list is this new beer made by Deschutes Brewery. According to the article, it is aged for nine months after being brewed with dark chocolate malt, milled oats, and Dutch cocoa. The beer is brewed in barrels that brewed Kentucky Bourbon in the past.

I have mentioned before that I don’t drink and especially don’t like beer but imagine that many people I know will be eager to try it.

Will you be buying these fall items?
