A Sweet French Street!
Hi friends! Today I want to share this sweet little French street scene I painted. I loved the sweet buntings strung from building to building.

I used a technique called wash, then line where you block in the main shapes with watercolor and then overline once dry in pen. It’s a great way to simplify a complex scene and loosen up. You can find a real-time version of this in Critique Club or enjoy the timelapse below!
Supplies (Affiliate links used)
Portable Painter palette *This kit comes with the palette plus additional slim pans
I used QoR Tube paints except for Potters Pink which was Maimeri Blu
I made the sketchbook with 100% cotton paper, this was the “practice” sketchbook I made before I went on the trip.)
I also used some DaVinci gouache that I dried down in pans but rewet well
I used these fineliners from Artme
I hope you give the wash then line technique a try and let me know how it works out for you. Happy crafting!
