A Prayer for My Dad on His 68th BD

Father in heaven, You are good to give me a Dad who has taught Your ways to me often. You have given me a Dad who seeks to model your nature to all who surround Him. You have given me a Dad that has an insatiable appetite for your Word and your church.

Thank you for giving me such a Dad.

My salvation came as a result of you putting me in places where the Gospel was both proclaimed, defended and exemplified. Father, thank you for making our home this way. Thank you for compelling my Dad to love the Gospel and call men and women to repentance.

Father, thank you for giving me a Dad who always had time for me growing up. Thank you for protecting his marriage from the evil one. Thank you for giving me a Dad who loved to create fun memories for his kids.

Father, thank you for giving me so many precious years serving alongside of him in church ministry. That was an undeserved grace.

On his birthday, Father, will you overwhelm him with your kindness? May you recall to His mind how you have faithfully supplied his every need. Will you help him remember that You have never left him, nor forsaken him. May his spirits be lifted and his countenance bright.

Thank you for my Dad.
