A new use for your die-cut machine
Hi friends! Today I’ll show you how to use your manual die-cut matching as a mini printing press. This is an affordable way to make prints.

Many crafters have one of these machines already but if you don’t here is some info about them: Home die-cut machines are much cheaper than printing presses and come in 6″ wide models like the Big shot machine I have here, and it is also available in a 9″ wide version as well as an industrial model with a 13″ wide opening. Don’t fret if you do not have a die-cut machine you can use a plastic spoon to rub the back of the paper to get enough pressure to transfer the print to your paper. This is just an easier hack if you have a die-cutter!

Thick smooth paper
Gouache paint
paint brush
water
rag
plexiglass to be used as a printing plate
scrap cardstock for shimming
There is a lot you can do with this technique. I have not explored printing with a press much but if you have a background in this you will find infinite ways to use your die-cut machine to create loads of beautiful prints. For me, I prefer a gelatin printing plate but this might be right for you! Look at your tools and supplies in new ways and til next time happy crafting!
