A Deeper Love Inside The Porsche Santiaga Story Chapter 15-18

Chapter 18

Riot, Porsche and NanaAnna pick strawberries. Doing this allows the girls to have a source of income. They earn a dollar a basket, (which usually adds up to 54 dollars a day for them). When they go inside to eat, NanaAnna does not cook. Instead, she makes Porsche cook them strawberry Pancakes and beans. This is the first meal Porsche has cooked for anyone.

Chapter 17

NanaAnna tells Riot how proud she is of her for being brave enough to escape with someone else, but she also warns each of the girls that they need to be smart in their actions; all that they do can be traced back to her.  NanaAnna also gives each girl a gift. Riot gets a long mirror, and Porsche gets a bag with something inside that she doesn’t open. She tells Porsche that in order for her to move on she needs to let go of those she calls family.

Chapter 16

NanaAnna takes them to Walmart for new clothes. Riot cuts her hair short to look like a boy in order to alter her appearance.  Porsche doesn’t cut hers because she knows that is something her mother would not like.

Chapter 15

Porsche Learns that the house she is in belongs to a woman named “NanaAnna.” NanaAnna lives near  land called Seneca Nation, which is owned by Native Americans. She is known as an herbal healer, and considered to be better than doctors. Porsche Feels debted to her and Riot for saving her life.
