6 of 8 regional hosts selected
Here are the announced hosts. Carthage (#1 Midwest, according to week 2 rankings) St. Thomas (#3 Central) Wittenberg (#2 Great Lakes) New York University (#1 New York) Springfield (#3 New England) Christopher Newport (#2 South)
The last two will be named after tournaments are complete on Sunday.
I can’t offer opinions because I don’t know which teams submitted bids, but these are viable options. There were many, many ways for the NCAA to go.
The NCAA mileage calculator site is slow/down. I assume the NCAA number crunchers are busy doing what I’d like to be doing, but I’m fairly certain that the selected hosts mean Nebraska Wesleyan and Concordia-Moorhead will be at St. Thomas. The host sites may also force Washington to play at Carthage. I will check on those outlying schools, and others, when the NCAA folks stop hogging the mileage site. Most other Midwest and Central teams could be at two or more of the following regionals: Carthage, St. Thomas, Wittenberg.
