5 Plus 7 Model for CFP Approved

The 12-team CFP will have a format. 5 Plus 7 in which the top five ranked conference champions plus the next seven highest ranked teams go to the College Football playoffs was voted on and unanimously voted for.

The top four teams will still receive first round byes. However, this allows for seven at-large selections instead of six.

Honestly, I can’t wait to see how this shakes out. Do we like this new format or not? I would say on paper it looks pretty good. Rewards conference champions and still included high ranked teams that don’t win a conference title.
