The Prospect League Championship series is ready to get underway. This best of three series will decide who wins the league title.

The Lafayette Aviators defeated Rex baseball 9-0 in the Eastern Conference championship game. A four-run first inning set the pace for Lafayette to cruise to an easy win.

The Cape Catfish defeated the Clinton LumberKings by a score of 3-1. The Catfish scored the two go ahead runs in the eighth inning on a home run by Hayden Nazarenus. This gave them the Western Conference title.

Lafayette will host game one, while Cape will host game two and if needed game three. Which team will take home the title? I’m predicting the Aviators over the Catfish in a 2-1 series.
