2025 Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Draft

Let’s take a look at the Pittsburgh Steelers selections in the 2025 NFL draft.

With their first-round pick which came at 21, they selected DT Derrick Harmon from Oregon. Was this a bit of a surprise maybe? Does it look to be a good fit? Possibly as it was rated as an A grade by Chad Rueter in this article.

They didn’t have a selection in the second round.

In the third round they selected RB Kaleb Johnson from Iowa. With runningback being a position of need in this draft for the Steelers this looks to be a good pick. One that was once again grated as an A by Rueter.

In the fourth round they selected Jack Sawyer Edge from Ohio State.

In the fifth round, they selected Yahya Black a DT from Iowa.

In round six they selected Ohio State quarterback Will Howard.

In the seventh round they had two picks. They selected Carson Bruener a linebacker from Washington and Donte Kent a cornerback from Central Michigan.

Iowa and Ohio State seems like the big winners here with four of seven picks coming from those two schools. They seem to have a nice mix of offense and defense as well.

They did draft a quarterback which seemed to be the position with the most buzz prior to the draft about how they would handle it. They didn’t trade up like many considered and went with a later round pick. How well this will work we will have to wait and see.

Rueter once again gave the Steelers an A grade for their day three picks, which then gave them an overall draft grade of an A. They were one of six teams to receive an A grade.

I can’t wait to see how the picks play out on the field. I guess time will tell if they live up to the A grade.
