The 2025 PBA Playoffs concluded this weekend with the championship round. EJ Tackett faced Jesper Svensson to see who would take home the title.

Tackett was looking for his fifth title of the season. A win would also net him $100,000 and push him closer to breaking Kyle Troup’s record for most money earned in a tour season. Another title would also look great toward another PBA player of the year win.

Svensson is looking to win consecutive titles after winning the PBA Tournament of Champions.

The championship was a race to three format instead of the race to two format of the prior rounds.

Game One was pretty close with Svensson taking game one 217-208.

Game Two was a bit closer, but also went to Svensson 225-220.

Game Three saw Tackett put together a strong game. His 246 was more than enough to defeat Svensson’s 216 and force game four.

In game four Svensson threw a 246 to best Tackett’s 226 and win the series 3-1.

The marked back-to-back titles for Svensson. He also won the top prize of $100,000. Svensson is the only person beside Tackett to win multiple titles this season after this victory.

The next PBA event is the PBA Tour Finals. Tackett and Svensson will compete as well as Anthony Simonsen, Jason Belmonte, Bill O’Neill, Kyle Troup, Anderson, and Graham Fach. This is the list of the top eight in points from 2024 and 2025. Who will win this title? Tune in and find out.
