This week the PBA Tour hosts the Pete Weber Missouri Classic. Who will emerge as this weeks champ? Let’s recap the stepladder finals and find out.

The first match of the ladder was between fifth seed Ryan Barnes and fourth seed Dom Barrett. This was a rematch of the round of eight, where Barrett defeated Barnes 4-1. Barrett would also win the rematch 190-141 to move on to the second stepladder match.

Timmy Tan was the third seed and Barrett’s next matchup. This game came down to the wire. Tan put up a strong 245 game, but it wasn’t enough as a double and a nine count for Barrett in the tenth frame gave him a 246-245 win.

Barrett would face second seed Tim Foy Jr. in the semifinal match. This one wasn’t as close as Barrett defeated Foy Jr by 15 pins 239-224 to climb the ladder all the way to the championship match.

EJ Tackett would wait in the wings as the top seed. Tackett would cruise to victory ending Barrett’s run one win shy of the title with a 238-202 victory.

The win gives Tackett his second title of the year and 25th career title. This ties Brian Voss for 11th all-time in wins. He sits just one title away from Don Johnson and a top 10 spot. He is the first to win more than one title during the 2025 season.

Will Tackett be able to keep up his winning ways? He will have to wait as the next tournament the PBA Mike Aulby Nevada Classic starts on February 25th, 2025.

For now, though Tackett is off to a strong start to the year and has to be the favorite to hold on to his player of the year award in 2025.
