The 2025 preseason coaches’ poll is out. Let’s check out who landed where in the poll heading into the start of the season.

Texas is the number one team in the country now. This is the first time they have been number one in the coaches’ poll to start the season. They received 28 first place votes. Ohio State is second with 20 first place votes, while Penn State is third with 14. Georgia received three votes to reach the number four ranking. Notre Dame ended up at fifth in the poll despite not getting any first-place votes.

Clemson received two first place votes and ended up sixth in the poll. Oregon, Alabama,LSU and Miami round out the top ten.

As a result of the ranking, we get to see the top two teams in the country battle it out when the season starts on August 30th, 2025, when the Buckeyes host the Longhorns. That should be an exciting game to watch.

Other opening weekend top 10 tussles include Clemson vs LSU and Miami vs Notre Dame.

The SEC had a strong showing in the poll with nine teams highlighted by four of the top nine teams in the country. The Big Ten followed with the second most teams at six of the top 25. The Big 12 had five teams in the poll, while the ACC only had three.

Could we see similar results when the AP poll comes out next week? Tune in and find out.
