2025 AVCA Week 1 poll: Little movement

The AVCA voters say they essentially nailed it during the preseason as the top nine remained the same in the Week 1 poll. In fairness the top nine are currently undefeated.

Three-time defending champ Juniata remains at No. 1 after winning its 100th consecutive match over the weekend. The Eagles are followed by No. 2 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 3 Hope, No. 4 Johns Hopkins, No. 6 Wisconsin-Oshkosh, No. 7 La Verne, No. 8 MIT, No. 9 Washington and Lee, and No. 10 Washington-St. Louis.

Juniata (74), UW-Whitewater (8), Johns Hopkins (2) and Hope and UW-Oshkosh (1) each received first-place votes.

Other Region VIII/IX teams in the Week 1 top 25: No. 13 Wisconsin-Platteville; No. 16 Illinois Wesleyan; No. 17 Millikin; No. 20 Wisconsin-Eau Claire; No. 22 Chicago.

Region VIII/IX programs also receiving votes this week: Coe; Dubuque; Northwestern; Transylvania; Gustavus Adolphus; Cornell; North Park; Saint Benedict; Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
