2024 Preseason Ap Top 25 Poll sees Familiar Number One

S. Samek

The 2024 Preseason AP top 25 poll is out. A familiar face is seated at the number one spot.

That team is the Georgia Bulldogs. They take the top spot ahead of Ohio State at number two. Oregon, Texas and Alabama take the final three slots in the top five.

The Big Ten and SEC continue to show why they are the class of College Football super conferences. Four teams of the top ten are from those conferences.

Notre Dame is ranked seventh in this pool and is the highest of the rated teams not in the Big Ten, or SEC. Florida State is ranked Tenth and is the highest rated ACC team.

Defending National Champion Michigan is ranked at number nine. This marks the lowest rank for a defending champion in 13 years sense Auburn at number 23 back in 2011.

Last Years runners-up Washington, didn’t even rank in the top 25 to start the preseason. This makes them the first team to reach the college football playoffs and not be ranked the next season. They did receive some votes though.

Should be interesting to keep an eye on the poll throughout the season. Will the same teams be at the top come playoff time? Stay tuned to find out.
