The top eight players in PBA Tour points competed for another title this past weekend at the PBA Tour Finals. Who emerged with the win?

To start off the event they divided into two groups of four. The groups then bowled two games with the top two moving on to the group finals. They would have a seeding match to determine the top seed for the group stepladder.

In group one Marshall Kent took the first seed of the stepladder. Jakob Butturff faced EJ Tackett in the opening match of the stepladder. He defeated Tackett 217-210 to advance to the next rung of the ladder. Bill O’Neill then went on to crush him in that round 247-193. This earned O’Neill a rematch with Kent.

They split the two-game series 1-1 with Kent winning game two 226-206 and O’Neill taking game one 258-180. Kent then won the roll-off 48-28 to become the group one champion and earn a spot in the championship match.

Group two was headlined by Jason Belmonte in the top seed. Belmonte would fall to Anthony Simonsen in the group two stepladder finals in a roll-off 49-37 after they spilt the two-game series 1-1. This put Simonsen in the championship match against Kent.

Simonsen took game one of the championship 246-210, before Kent took game two 248-200 to force another roll-off. Simonsen would then win the roll-off 40-38 to claim the title.

This win gives Simonsen his 15th career title. The next PBA event is July 25-28th, 2024 and is the Storm PBA/PWBA Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles.
