2024 PBA Cheetah Championship Round One

The PBA Cheetah Championship is underway at the World Series of Bowling. The Cheetah oil pattern is known to produce some high scoring events and this year’s tournament is living up to that expectation.

Justin Knowles was the leader of the tournament’s first 10 games. He totaled 2,567 pins sits at +567 and is averaging 256.

To get to the last spot in the stepladder finals fifth place you need to be averaging 247 nearly 248. That position is being held by Matt Russo.

Marshall Kent, Eric Jones and BJ Moore are in second, third and fourth place after the first 10 games rounding out the top five with Knowles and Russo.

The Cut line is the top 16 after five more games today. Which it’s no picnic to get into the cut as even the 20th place player was averaging 239. The top 16 then move onto match play tonight.

Perfect 300 games were aplenty too. 12 300 games were shot during the first two rounds of qualifying. One pair had two perfect games and a 297 out of four bowlers on the pair in one game showing how high scoring the event is. Will this keep up during the last five games and match play, or will it cool off a bit?
