2024 Olympics: Podium Training & Qualifications
I will be away on Thurs/Fri for a mini vacation, but I will be back for Sunday to update. I’ll be honest, I have very little interest in this Olympics. I know this is a Gymnastics blog, but not having a likable gymnast to root for makes me just not wanna watch. I’m back! )

Prelims awards. Most overscored routines of the day. GOLD: 1. Suni on Beam. 2. Kaliya Nemour on Bars 3. Bronze: Tie : Rebeca on Floor, Nina Derwael on Bars and Sabrina on Floor (We do ties here at GTT:) Honorable mention: Anything else Kaliya did. Go watch that mess of a floor routine and sloppy beam, and tell me she deserves better execution scores than Chiles. Louisa Blanco made it into the AA (WOO, BAMA)
Qualifications: Women
Review: What a mess. France is out of team finals. No EF. Suni overscored like she’s at a home meet. More whining from every 4 year fans about the 2 per country rule. Jade tanked floor, and vault but the judges decided to not see it. What a mess. Watch the videos while you can.

Leanne meeting some Olympians. I added the fencing guy’s Insta because he tagged Simone and Leanne and my girl isn’t going to get to be an actual Olympian at least she is being regcognized. The last picture is of College gymnasts competing. Levi, Emma, Aleah, Luise Blanco. I love this Rebeca picture.
For future reference. Here are the mens teams Olympics vs Olympic Trials scores. If allowed to do the AA, Asher would have only needed a 13.165 to pass Fred into the AA final and only a 12.532 to pass Juda. Pommels is his worst event so he probably could have barely passed Fred, and easily passed Juda if he hit. He would be no where near top 3 (needed a 14.731 to pass Hashimoto who had a subpar prelims.

Asher Hong didn’t do AA at the Olympics but he Danell Leyva‘d the prelims after looking subpar at Nationals and Trials.

Romania back in the team finals. EVERY member of that team should send Putin and France flowers for the Birthday gift they earned by default, but earned non the less. Sabrina has the second most overscored Floor score of the meet. The judges let it be known, chuck the skills because all we care about is D score.

Total: 164.029 5th place in prelims **** They would have had a 4th person and may have dropped the 10 score, or they may not have. You just don’t know. Jade could do bars and beam but bars was scored pretty well, she wojuldn’t help and her beam wouldn’t help either.
