2024 NBA Cup Group Play Predictions

Today starts the 2024 NBA Cup. With three groups of five teams each per conference let’s predict who will move on to the next stage.

Group A East

This group is the Knicks, Magic, 76ers, Nets and Hornets. I think the Knicks have the best chance to win the group, despite the Magic actually having the best record so far this season.

Group B East

This group is the Bucks, Pacers, Heat, Raptors and Pistons. I’m predicting the Heat to win this group, but the Pacers and Bucks could make it harder on them.

Group C East

This group is the Celtics, Cavaliers, Bulls, Hawks and Wizards. This should be a good group with the defending NBA champion Celtics and the last remaining undefeated team in the NBA Cavaliers as highlights. I think it’s hard to root against Boston winning the group so I’m predicting Celtics win this group.

Group A West

This group is the Timberwolves, Clippers, Kings, Rockets and Trail Blazers. Pretty balanced group as three of the five teams enter at 6-4. I’m picking the Timberwolves to win this group.

Group B West

This group is the Thunder, Suns, Lakers, Jazz and Spurs. Two of the west’s current best teams in the Suns and Thunder it should be one of those two teams taking the top spot in the group. I’m predicting the Suns.

Group C West

This group is Nuggets, Mavericks, Warriors, Pelicans and Grizzlies. It’s probably going to be Nuggets, or Warriors moving on from this group. My prediction is Warriors.
