S. Samek

It’s day three of the 2024 League of Legends world championship. It’s the first day of best of three series in the Swiss Stage, as we move onto qualification matches.

The winner of these series moves on to the quarterfinals.

Dplus Kia took on LNG in the first series. Dplus missed making the quarterfinals las year and looks to improve on last year’s finish with a win. LNG reached quarterfinals last season, so they look to at least match that with a series win.

LNG looked strong early and rode that momentum to a game-one win. They were then able to close out the series in game two, finishing off the sweep 2-0 and moving on to the quarterfinals.

The second series is Gen.G vs Hanwha Life. Gen.G reached the quarterfinals at the 2023 worlds. Hanwha took the LCK Summer Spilt title away from Gen.G to earn the LCK top seed for worlds. Both teams would fight hard to become the first LCK team in the bracket. They spilt the first two games before Gen.G took game three to move on.

With two teams now qualifying for the final eight, six spots are left up for grabs. Day four is set to see the eight teams at 1-1 go head-to-head. Which teams will win and advance closer to the quarterfinals? Tune in and find out.
