2024 League of Legends World Championship Finals Preview

This weekend the 2024 League of Legends world championships conclude. the final best of five series will determine once and for all this year’s champion. Let’s take a look at it further with a preview of the matchup.

Our first team to make it is Bilibili Gaming. Bilibili is the top seed from the LPL. It took them all five games to reach quarterfinals as they finished the Swiss stage 3-2. In the quarterfinals they defeated LCK top seed Hanwha Life Esports 3-1 to move on to the semifinals.

In the semifinals they faced off against Weibo Gaming in a rematch of last year’s worlds semifinals. This time Bilibili Gaming got the job done and won 3-0 in the semifinals to advance to the finals.

This is the first time Bilibili has made the world finals. They made the 2024 MSI finals but lost to Gen.G,so, a win here would give them their first international title.

T1 is the second team to reach the finals. They went 3-1 during the Swiss Stage, which included a win over Bilibili Gaming to reach the quarterfinals. Then during the quarterfinals, they swept Top Esports 3-0 to move on to the semifinals.

In the semifinals they bested Gen. G 3-1 to advance to the finals. This marks the third year in a row they have reached the finals. After winning the title last year can they defend it this year?

T1 also faced Bilibili Gaming in the 2024 Esports World Cup quarterfinals, where they won the series 2-1 on their way to winning that title. Will the trend of T1 dominance over Bilibili Gaming continue?

I think it will. Yet I’m thinking we get a full five game series and T1 wins 3-2.
